Scottie Roberts - The Chef
Having been a chef now for over 20 years, Scottie has a wide range of skills and experience to create any kind of menu.
After attending catering college briefly he decided that the best way to learn would be a "hands on" approach. His training started at The Frog Island which not only taught him the basics of working in a high end, very busy kitchen with a large brigade of chefs but also encompassed his love of game keeping and cooking the catch.

After his brief introduction, he worked in his father's grade centre restaurants for the next 7 years learning all about how to run a kitchen successfully both cooking and managing staff. Following on from here he decided to break out fro the family business for a while to upgrade his skills to incorporate fine dining food working at am exclusive boutique hotel/restaurant in Brighton and then onto a fabulous restaurant in Worthing.
After meeting his wife Suzanne in 2000, the family decided on combining her skills of working in notes and bought The Wellington Hotel in Boscastle, Cornwall where he achieved 2 AA Rosettes retaining them for 6 years until their move to Deal, his origin home town in 2011 after the birth of their daughter.
Buying the Dining Club was like a breath of fresh air…Hi own business, own menus and ideas and after almost 4 years is still going from strength to strength by challenging himself with all sorts of menus. Yet no matter what you may be dining on, the quality of produce and the flavours he creates prove that he has learnt his skill well and continues to impress even the very discerning palates of people from all walks of life.
